Golf Tour to Paradise.
A travel log by Eva Enestrom from Sodertaje Golf Club.
A trip to a paradise with beautiful weather year around, exotic beaches, mouth watering food, and probably one of the most inexpensive places in the world. The land of the smile Thailand. All this before I mention the golf courses, some of the greatest and most spectacular courses I have ever played, it does not get any better.
Through Johan Tarnstrom, a local professional golfer, and Ulf Sparvman, from Swe Thai Golf & Conference Thailand, a 2-week golf package was arranged for 9 people. It surpassed all expectations. The golf courses were spectacular, most of which were internationally designed. The Thai culture was incredible and everything about the vacation was second to none.
The Courses:
Around the Hua-Hin area which is also the King of Thailand’s summer residence were a number of beautiful courses namely, The Imperial Lake View, Majestic Creek, and Springfield designed by Jack Nicklaus. All with spectacular views, rolling fairways and palm trees bunkers, water waiting for your bad shots and at the end quick and tricky greens. Truly a great and enjoyable test of golf. Sometimes the heat can be a factor but on all the golf courses, every 3 or 4 holes, there are drinks stops fully stocked with all types of liquid refreshments and food. Temperatures can get up to 30 to 35 degrees but with the help of your caddy, and the drinks stops, it is a beautiful climate to play golf.
The package included 6 days of golf extra golf could be added if required. But leisure time was a must. The beaches, swimming in the sea were the temperature of the water would be around 30 degrees, visiting the bustling night markets with all types of food and gifts at very low prices, could not be missed out on. In the evening restaurants in Hua Hin catered for all tastes and after your evening meal you could sit and have a quite drink in comfort at one of the many bars.
Bangkok:
Two days before we were due to fly home we moved to a luxuries hotel in Bangkok to do some final sight seeing and shopping where the markets did not close until 4.00am in the morning, what more could you ask for.
The winter trip from Sweden to Thailand will become a tradition for 9 golfers from Sodertaje Golf Club and we will be using Swe Thai Golf to do all of our future bookings.
